The general ineffectiveness of silicone rubber seals is due to the following:

1. There is an abnormal sound

When the hydraulic cylinder is working under high pressure and low gear, sometimes it will make a noise. The reason is that when the Y-shaped sealing ring is dragged along the shaft or the inner cavity of the cylinder, the vulcanized rubber and the metal material surface temporarily adhere to and get rid of the situation, which will reduce the service life of the sealing device. The solution is to reduce the frictional resistance of the vulcanized rubber, so that the sealing surface continues to maintain a grease film; it should also be noted that the viscosity of the substance or lubricating fluid at work does not need to be too low.

2. Root damage

If the root of the seal is more severely damaged, it will cause leakage. The key reason for root damage causes great sliding friction and dry friction. Therefore, be sure to pay attention to the correlation between the inner diameter specification of the seal ring and the bore shaft and pipe groove specification.

3. Dust damage

Sludge, dust, sand and other intrusion into the hydraulic cylinder will usually cause abnormal friction coefficients of the silicone seal ring. A dust ring should be set at the extension end of the hydraulic cylinder to ensure the actual effect of anti-fouling and prevent hazardous residues from entering the hydraulic cylinder. Cylinder.

4. Invalid rotation

Flip, if the external torque caused by sliding friction during fitness exercise exceeds the torsion resistance of the seal ring itself, the seal ring will flip over or partly over the entire circle, lacking * sealing ability. In order to prevent the seal from turning over, the strength of the plastic pellets can be increased or a supporting point ring can be selected. Setting the supporting point ring has a good practical effect on avoiding various displacements of the Y-shaped sealing ring in the installation tank. The Y-shaped sealing ring can also be prevented from turning after being inserted into the retaining ring.

5. The gap bites

The gap between the Y-shaped sealing ring is similar to that of the O-ring, and is generated at the root. In the same way, the countermeasures are: limit the sealing gap according to the pressure, and use Y-ring raw materials appropriately. For Y-shaped seals with a working pressure greater than 16MPa, a retaining ring should be set or a special seal ring with a retaining ring at the root should be used. The retaining ring is generally made of plastic materials with higher stiffness, such as polytetraethylene, acrylic resin, etc.
